Robert Tromberg

Randy Roth Applied Memorial Scholarship Recipient

Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, FL

Robert originally thought of insurance as just another “adult” expense, until the InVEST program introduced him to the industry. He explained that as one of five drivers at home, he eventually learned more about insurance as a consumer.

“InVEST introduced me to a variety of career paths,” Robert explained.

Listening to the program’s guest speakers and attending an InVEST field trip reinforced his interest in insurance. He particularly enjoyed a presentation by an insurance executive who explained how to market yourself and find your target audience.

Besides maintaining high grades throughout high school, Robert participated in various internship opportunities, including working for a physician recruitment company and a John Deere equipment distributor. His favorite internship came senior year – working at a regional chamber of commerce, where they were “very impressed” with his work ethic and business knowledge.

He also got involved in a Junior Achievement program as the leader of a student-run business that helped to promote several local organizations.

As a sophomore at the Wharton School in Fall 2018, Robert is studying finance and accounting —  after completing a Summer internship with a real estate investment trust in New York. "I had the opportunity to learn about that industry and gain valuable experience working on analytic projects, performing due diligence, and handling collateral files," he explained.

On campus, Robert is currently serving as the Risk Manager and Sentinel of his fraternity Alpha Epsilon Pi.
