Project Invest has been instrumental at my 4th generation family-owned and operated independent insurance agency with locations in Maine and New Hampshire. Five of my co-workers completed the Invest program and still work for my agency today – as Personal Lines and Commercial Lines Account Managers and in Agency Management positions.

Invest is a great way to educate young students about the importance of insurance, explain the types of insurance most likely to impact them right out of high school, and highlight the many career opportunities that exist. We're an aging population across the county, with the average age of an insurance agent at 55 – but in the past five years, the average has fallen to 48  and is trending downwards due to our strong attention on our Invest volunteer efforts, recruitment, and young talent development.

As an Invest Volunteer, I'm able to give back to my community by providing insurance education to high school and college students – who will all become future insurance consumers – so they can make better buying decisions. I'm also hopeful that my efforts will attract a younger talent pool and raise the profile of an industry that offers immense opportunity.
