Randy Roth Applied Memorial Scholarship Recipient*

Hamburg High School, NY

The Invest program reinforced for me how important insurance is to the economy, as well as the vital need for personal protection from house fires, auto collisions, and illness.

In college, I plan to study risk management and international relations, with the intention of working with third-world countries and international non-profit organizations like 'Save the Children' and the 'Red Cross' to help them develop health insurance and financial planning programs. Helping others is very important to me.

Some of my extra-curricular activities at school have included serving as Student Government Treasurer and managing a fundraising committee for a 'Goin' Bald For Bucks' Drive, which recently collected over $35,000 to support cancer research and patient-care programs. I also participated in a 'Young Life' Mission that traveled to El Salvador, collecting over $500 in educational and healthcare materials.

I believe my high school experiences and my plans for college will properly prepare me for an insurance career and humanitarian work. Because of Invest, I have a definite path for my future.

* Established in 2017, this scholarship honors the memory of Randy Roth who was dedicated to developing young talent for the insurance industry. Roth served as Applied Systems' director of talent acquisition.
