Find the Next Producer for Your Agency ("drop-in" article)

By supporting Invest we help educate the next generation of insurance consumers, introduce them to careers in the industry and create a secure future for the independent agency channel.

Invest is a non-profit education foundation of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America that is committed to improving insurance literacy of students and attracting new talent to the industry.Through interactive classroom instruction and training, students become better educated consumers and learn about the wealth of career opportunities within the insurance industry.

Students have access to real insurance rating software and forms to simulate an insurance agency in their classroom. In the mock environment they can sell insurance policies, just like a producer. And in many classrooms, students create business plans, brands and handle claims — exposing them to the wide variety of careers in the industry.

What’s next? Go to investprogram.org and find out if there's an already program in your area to volunteer with and contact that teacher for guest speaking opportunities. Materials and presentations, discussion questions and more are available for volunteers.

Insurance volunteers provide a real-life connection between their classroom learning and actual insurance careers. If there’s not a program in your area, contact their staff to start one.
