Guest Speaking at an InVEST Class? Don’t Reinvent the Wheel
Numerous resources available to make your visit easy
InVEST encourages its company supporters and insurance professionals to get involved at the local level with InVEST schools and promote your involvement to your agencies. When you do, don’t forget about the many resources already at your fingertips to make your effort and visit seamless.
Whether you’re speaking to students about a specific topic, like managing risk, issues in automobile insurance, careers in insurance or more, be sure to login to the InVEST website and click on resources to find helpful tools, including:
PowerPoint Presentations: Available on a variety of topics, use these to guide your discussion with students. Most of the PowerPoints are directly related to the textbook learning, so you can be sure you’re on point with their learning objectives.
Discussion Questions: If you’re looking to evoke conversation in the classroom among students, download the Teacher Guide which includes discussion questions and additional activities for the classroom.
Videos: Supplement your discussion with online videos on insurance careers, liability, replacement cost vs ACV, and much more.
Online Games: If the classroom is set with computers, have students jump on the InVEST student center and complete one of the online games, like the Risk and Probability game, which provides a great overview of the importance of insurance.
If you’d like more information on any of these resources, or need assistance with an upcoming classroom visit, contact Jennifer Robinson who will be happy to assist you.
