4 Easy InVEST® Fundraiser Ideas
Consider making InVEST® your charity of choice.
Summer is a great time to host a fundraiser for InVEST®,
the insurance education program that’s introducing more than 13,000
students a year to the insurance industry and insurance careers.
By hosting an InVEST fundraiser, no matter
how big or small, you will do your part to help attract a bright,
talented workforce to the insurance industry.
- Casual Work Days: Summer is a
great time to allow staff to dress more relaxed to the office. Ask
employees to donate $5, $10 or $20 to wear jeans or shorts on Fridays
for the summer. Create a plaque or sign for the reception area that
explains the fundraiser.
- Silent Auction: A silent auction can easily be added to a
conference, golf tournament or education event. Solicit agents,
companies, vendors and local hot spots for donations. Even just a
handful of items can bring great return. Display items around the room
of an existing event and promote the auction in the program guide and
during podium time.
- “Like” for InVEST: Create a social media campaign, and for
each new like you get in a set period of time, donate, for example, $5
to InVEST. This is a win-win. You earn more social engagement and InVEST
can keep doing all the great things they do to attract young
professionals to insurance.
- 50/50 Raffle: Sell tickets to a raffle where half the
proceeds go toward InVEST and have go the winner of the raffle. This is
an easy, familiar fundraiser with little out of pocket expense—just
raffle tickets. Be sure to check with your state or local gaming
regulations to ensure you are in compliance.
To make it even easier to host an InVEST
fundraiser, mobile credit card processing devices are available that can
be used at your events and automatically deposit funds into InVEST’s
account. Contact InVEST national staff, and be sure you check the InVEST Fundraising Guidelines before promoting and implementing your fundraiser.
InVEST is a 501(c)(3) educational
foundation that teaches high school and college students about insurance
and financial services. With more than 400 programs nationwide, the
program also introduces young professionals to the insurance industry as
a rewarding career opportunity.
